May 9th- 11th marks the annual MarTech Conference in San Francisco and we at mCordis and The Connected marketer Institute couldn’t be more excited. Here’s why.
Marketing has transformed dramatically just in the past decade thanks to digital technology, particularly the smartphone, but not exclusively. We as individuals are now more connected than ever. Marketers are now capable of reaching an individual at a personal level, but also at scale.
Alongside this tremendous growth in technology and overall connectedness, is a rapid increase in the marketing technology solutions. No other infographic or event portrays this development better than the marketing technology landscape, featured at the MarTech conference.
In 2011, when Scott Brinker first produced the MarTech landscape graphic, there were about 150 different solutions in the space. In 2014, that number jumped to 1,000. It doubled again in 2015 to 2,000, and last year (2016) that increased to 3,874. Whether the vendors will continue to increase at that rate is for us to find out during this year’s conference.
Last year, the top 5 largest categories, by number of solutions included, were:
- Sales Automation, Enablement & Intelligence (220)
- Social Media Marketing & Monitoring (186)
- Display & Programmatic Advertising (180)
- Marketing Automation & Campaign/Lead Management (161)
- Content Marketing (160)
We’re very curious to see how competition affected this space and if these categories continue to be the largest.
We encourage you all to join mCordis & The Connected Marketer Institute at the largest vendor-agnostic gathering of marketing technologists, data scientists and digital innovators at the intersection of marketing, technology and management: MarTech — The Marketing Technology Conference. Register for MarTech San Francisco and adopt proven strategies that provide the ultimate customer experience.
This year there’s an incredible agenda packed with case studies, strategic insights, networking opportunities, and vendor demos and solutions. Furthermore, if you’re interested in attending, use the promo code 100mtmc (case sensitive) and get $100 off the All Access Pass.
We’re looking forward to further discussion about how companies are building their marketing technology stack. As you may already know, there is no “one platform to rule them all” model that has materialized in a lot of marketing departments (yet). But rather, many companies use multiple platforms for different capabilities such as designing their web platform, marketing automation, CRM, and so on.
On the evening of May 9th to kick off the conference, marketers will be recognized for their use of a marketing stack in a friendly competition called the Stackies. This is where marketers send in a single 16:9 slide that illustrates their collection of marketing tools and technologies that they use to make marketing magic in a digital world.
From then on we’ll be enjoying two full days packed with keynotes, workshops, exhibit halls, and networking. You won’t want to miss mCordis’ Michael Becker presenting on Wednesday, May 10th on “The Connected Marketer: A Unifying Approach for Understanding & Managing Digital Transformation” at 1:55 pm.
People are connected, your marketing should be too. As we enter the era of the connected individual, new opportunities and challenges are presenting themselves. In the age of the connected individual, the success of your brand will be determined by your ability to combine physical, digital, sensorial and emotional experiences and the interaction your target audience has through those experiences. The channels to reach, engage and serve people are changing, as are their expectations. Attend Becker’s session to learn how to serve the connected individual and integrate The Connected Marketer Approach into your thinking and marketing
We hope you can join us! Register by May 8th, to ensure you save $100 on your All Access Pass with the discount code 100mtmc. Looking forward to seeing you there.
